Level 3: Advanced Understanding
This advanced oxygen safety training course adds more technical content for system engineers, designers, process specialists, and those responsible for managing the technical aspects of oxygen systems. Students will be introduced to the Oxygen Fire Risk Analysis (OFRA) tool to evaluate oxygen hazards in components and systems, as well as perform system safety audits.
Audience
Technical personnel, including design engineers, process engineers, chemical and safety engineers, materials scientists, senior maintenance personnel, system supervisors, procedure writers, and others.
Learning Goals
The learning goal of this course is to explain the fundamental principles required to effectively design safe oxygen systems and to train personnel on the critical aspects of oxygen system design including material compatibility, ignition mitigation, oxygen cleaning and clean specification, and fire risk reduction.
Student Objectives
The student will understand the oxygen fire hazard and WHA’s risk management approach, specify compatible materials, and apply proven design methodologies and oxygen cleaning strategies that minimize ignition and fire risk. Students will also understand the OFRA tool used to identify oxygen hazards and analyze fire risk (based on industry standards from ASTM, CGA, EIGA, NFPA, SAE, and others).
Formats
- When presented onsite, this course is presented over two days. Students receive content that’s custom-tailored to their company’s unique systems and technical training needs.
- The live webinar or version of this course provides a two-day virtual training experience that can be custom-tailored to a client’s specific systems and needs. Students can participate individually on their own devices or together in one room.
- This course is also available for on-demand self-paced learning using prerecorded webinars.
Cost
Cost for level 3 training is typically $1,000-$1,500 per person. Final cost depends on several factors such as format, number of courses, number of personnel to be trained, and any custom add-ons. Group discounts are available.
