Stefan joined the WHA team in 2022.

He comes to WHA from professional positions at NMSU, including teaching and laboratory management. He brings lots of hands-on knowledge, with years of experience in design, testing, machining, welding, safety inspection, laboratory management (12 labs), project costing/tracking, and personnel training.

Stefan is proficient in AutoCAD, CNC machine programming and fabrication, and 2D / 3D drawing using SolidWorks and FloWorks. With his mechanical background, he’s also well equipped for problem-solving, design and fabrication, project implementation, and technical training. According to those who know Stefan best, he is a team player, a critical thinker, a good problem-solver, and isn’t afraid to ask questions to seek out good answers for tough issues!

Stefan was born in El Paso and grew up on a farm in Anthony, New Mexico. He enjoys the great outdoors and spending time with his fiancé Cameron (also employed at WHA) and their two dogs. Stefan’s hobbies include fabricating and “tinkering around” with everything from motorcycles to furniture — anything that will “give him a challenge and make him think.” Stefan enjoys shooting sports, including long-distance shooting.

Stefan also has a long background of volunteering his services to various civic and community organizations, including FFA, New Mexico State Fair, 4-H, and volunteer firefighting. Stefan has held several volunteer fire department positions including Assistant Station Chief, Lieutenant, and Incident Commander for Dona Ana County Fire and Emergency Services. He is currently volunteering with Team Rubicon, an international organization that specializes in disaster mitigation and response.
