Course Description.

The primary purpose of this module is to provide hands-on instruction and application of visual inspection methods to detect contaminants in industrial oxygen pipeline systems. The module helps answer the question, “Why clean for oxygen service?” Then it provides practical “how-to’s” regarding our oxygen clean methodology: start clean, verify clean, assemble clean, and maintain clean, using WHA’s Oxygen Clean Inspec-tion Kit. We teach white light, black (UV) light, and wipe test visual inspection techniques along with the most widely used acceptance criteria from CGA G-4.1 and EIGA IGC 33-06. Students will have the opportunity to practice using visual inspection tools, including white light and black (UV) light, to detect contaminants on specially prepared stainless steel and carbon steel coupons prepared with known levels of various non-volatile residues and particulate.
